On 31 January, CELLFIL joined inspiring projects from the ECOSYSTEX community for the 12th edition of the ECOSYSTEX Insights Series webinar, showcasing cutting-edge solutions for a more sustainable textile future.
As a new member of the ECOSYSTEX Community of Practice, the CELLFIL project was represented by Jennet Orayeva from RTDS Group. She shared key updates on the project’s progress toward the development and validation of cellulose lyocell filaments as a scalable solution for circular textile production.

Along with other projects, CELLFIL contributed to the webinar’s focus on innovative approaches in textile sustainability. The webinar highlighted various initiatives aimed at addressing critical challenges in the textile value chain, from recycling to reducing waste in textile production.
The event attracted 85 online participants and featured an insightful Q&A session, where attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with the project representatives and ask questions about the presented solutions and strategies.
The event featured a wide range of insightful presentations from EU-funded projects working toward sustainable textile solutions. Notable contributions included Traci Kinden from TEXroad, who discussed proposed minimum data requirements for the textile recycling value chain, and Mariangela Lavanga from Erasmus University Rotterdam, who presented the FABRIX project, which focuses on fostering local and sustainable textile and clothing ecosystems. Marta Casadesús also shared the CIRTECHTEX project, which is implementing circular economy processes to reduce textile waste in the production of personal protective equipment.
This online event was part of the ECOSYSTEX Insights Series, which serves as a platform for EU-funded projects focusing on textile sustainability to present their work, share findings, and discuss the latest developments in the field. The series offers valuable insights into the ongoing efforts to transform the textile industry into a more sustainable and circular sector.
